Tribute 1 Xyz Monster; during the End Phase, Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Number" monster with the same Type, but 1 Rank lower, as the Tributed monster had when it was on the field.
This effect does not target.
When activating this effect, you must Tribute 1 Xyz Monster you control as a cost. (You can also Tribute an Xyz Monster in face-down Defense Position in your Monster Zone.)
This effect cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
The effect "during the End Phase of this turn, Special Summon 1 'Number' monster from your Extra Deck with the same Type as the Tributed monster but 1 Rank lower" does not create a Chain Link when it is applied during the End Phase.
A monster Special Summoned by the effect of "Purge Ray" is not treated as being Special Summoned by an Xyz Summon.
